Vuze

Torrent files are, nowadays, the best way of sharing and downloading files from the Internet. That's because the torrent technology offers a greater speed and reliability than FTP and HTTP. More and more torrent sites are launched every day, each of them having various content, like music, videos, games, software, e-books and so on. You can find virtually anything on these torrent sites. But in order to have access to this large file database, you need to have a torrent client installed. Even though there are a lot of torrent clients out there, most of them are difficult to use and require a lot of system resources.

Still, there are some clients that really work as they should, offering a lot of features in a light package. One of these programs is Vuze. This simple Windows program allows you to download any torrent file with great ease and at the fastest speed possible. It's not difficult to install or to use.

After having installed the program, running it will display a graphical interface which includes several options displayed on the left. By accessing these options, the user can have access to the own torrent site of the application, from where he can download a variety of file types. This can save him time, as he won't need to launch the browse and navigate to the torrent site. After finding a desired file and clicking on the torrent link, Vuze will automatically intercept it and it will initiate the download process completely automatically.

Alternatively, the user can manually add the torrent link in the program's interface. While a torrent is being downloaded, certain information will be displayed next to it, like the number of seeds and peers, progress and downloading speed.

The functionality of Vuze can be extended by the use of plugins. There are a couple of them available, but more can be downloaded from the Internet. These plugins can display, for example, the status of the network or can add IRC functionality to Vuze.

By accessing the options section of the program, the user can configure every aspect of the program's functionality and also the appearance, but some options, especially the ones which are network-related, may be difficult to configure by beginners. There is also a statistics window available, which can display the current download speed, generated traffic and so on. This information can help the user see how good his Internet connection is.
